The Beer Passport™ was created to reconnect people with real beer culture — the kind you find at the source.
Born during the COVID-19 lockdowns, it began as a printed passport for beer lovers to rediscover South Africa’s independent breweries — not just in cities, but in small towns, mountain passes, and along gravel roads.
The 2024/2025 edition features over 120 handpicked destinations, each offering a warm welcome to travellers who value flavour, community, and authenticity.
Why We Made It
We love beer. But more than that, we love the people who make it.

Independent brewers were hit hard by lockdowns.
The Beer Passport was our way of bringing people back to the taproom — and keeping South Africa’s brewing spirit alive.
